Our meeting & events accreditations

The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) is the association supporting and growing the business, meetings and events industry in the UK, and the keeper of AIM, the UK’s only recognised quality standard for the meetings industry. Many of our meeting venues are accredited as AIM Secure which means we deliver first-class service, excellent facilities and a total commitment to upholding legal compliance and health and hygiene protocols.

'beam' is the events and hospitality association that drives, promotes and models good business between its agency and venue members. It champions best practice, ethical working and sound commercial judgement, making beam membership the mark of quality assurance for event bookers.

Meeting venues always matter

Whether a private board meeting, a small group working on a project, or a large meeting with hundreds of delegates, meetings provide the valuable asset that is face-to-face communication. They allow time and thought, they instigate action, create momentum, they start things, keep them going, close and review them professionally.

Our job at Lime Venue Portfolio is to work with event organisers and offer our facilities to help inspire and energise a meeting. We do this through our unique meeting venues and outstanding food.

Selecting a meeting venue that's 'just right'

We believe that when a meeting planner chooses to hire unusual meeting venues they're already on the way to a successful event. It's easy to have small meetings internally, ‘round the corner’, or in a dry meeting centre. Choosing an unusual meeting venue shows more thought and consideration to both the meeting and the attendees. For larger meetings, it shows that the event isn’t just there to inform, but to inspire.

Think of the delegate mindset as they enter settings such as the Allianz Stadium or The Kia Oval. Creativity is flowing from the get-go when they arrive at venues like the O2, Bristol Zoo or the Imperial War Museum North.

If the planner cares that much about the hosting of the meeting, so will the delegates, meaning better return on objective and investment, plus a better experience for everyone.

Feeding body and mind

We understand the effect that food can have on a delegation. Provide guests with the right start to the day and it’s like a ‘power up’ exercise. The right boost at lunchtime means everyone in the meeting venue is switched on for the afternoon, and a hearty dinner is both a reward and an incentive. We understand how nutrition and good menu selection can support delegates in getting the most out of their meeting. Sure, many may need a coffee hit to make it through the morning, but a fruit-packed smoothie has longer-lasting benefits!

We create menus in partnership with the event planners, using food in the right way and in sync with the objectives of the meeting. 42% of all event feedback is food-related – done well, the food can be a welcome distraction and a chance to switch off and talk about something else for a change. Equally, it can underline the theme of a meeting or spur creative thought through its presentation and delivery.
