Questions about the venue
Are there any restrictions on hire of Hatfield House?
We like to be as flexible and as accommodating as we can but with a historic venue there are a few restrictions which include no drones, no candles or fireworks.
What times are the venue open from and until?
Access to set up is from 7.30am (before then a £150 plus vat fee is applied) with an end to the event at 11.30pm (guests depart by midnight). Should you wish to extend the event by 1 hour to 12.30am then a £450 plus vat fee applies.
Is the venue available during the day?
The Old Palace and Riding School can be hired for events all year round and we can host events during the day and evening making Hatfield House perfect for conferences which are then extended into an evening banquet. Hatfield House and Gardens are also a great place to visit. They are open from Easter to the end of September to visit; there is also a farm and childrens play area.
Is Hatfield House DDA compliant? (Disability Discrimination Act 1995)
Do the rooms offer natural daylight?
Both the Old Palace and the Riding School have natural daylight.
Are there any breakout spaces available?
The Riding School has two syndicate rooms that accommodate 10 delegates each and there is also the mezzanine level to utilise. The Old Palace has the upper and lower solar rooms suitable for breakout spaces.
Does the venue have any outdoor space?
Hatfield House is set with acres of parkland. The cricket pitch is suitable for team building/fun days up to 500 and the Oak Field available to high for large scale events. The beautiful outdoor spaces and historic uilding provide a stunning backdrop fro photography.
Do the rooms have pillars?
Neither of our room has pillars – meaning your guests all get unobstructed views.
Can I arrange a site visit?
Yes, showrounds are available Monday – Saturday between 9.00am and 4.00pm and we highly recommend visiting us to see our spaces for yourself. If time is of the essence, you can see inside the Old Palace on Google Maps here.
Does the venue have air-conditioning
Neither room has air-conditioning but the Riding School has ceiling windows that can be opened and is a warm and comfortable space for meetings and events.
Questions about events
Is the venue suitable for meetings/banquets?
The Riding School is ideal for meetings, lunches and dinners between 40 and 120 guests with the Old Palace perfect for events up to 280.
What packages are available for booking an event at Hatfield House?
We offer a range of packages which include meetings, lunches, dinners, BBQs and Elizabethan banquets. Prices start from £35.00 plus vat per person.
When can I get access to my meeting room
The room is available from 7.30am to set up with delegates arriving from 8.00am.
Is AV included in your prices?
The Riding School has a 10ft screen and projector, pa system with handheld microphone and 1 flipchart included. AV needs to be hired in for the Old Palace.
Does Hatfield House supply free Wi-Fi?
The Riding School offers free Wi-Fi for the main presentation.
Does Hatfield House offer room set-up the night before?
Set up the day or evening is possible (subject to availability). Fee’s starting from £500.00 plus vat apply.
Can we have our event material delivered to Hatfield House prior to our event?
Yes, but this must be delivered before 10.00am.
Does Hatfield House operate a preferred suppliers list
Hatfield House work with lots of suppliers and would be happy to help you with recommendations.

Who provides the catering at Hatfield House?

Can I bring in my own caterers?
We do allow external caterers for Asian and Jewish cuisine. Terms and conditions do apply.
Can Hatfield House cater for special dietary requests?
Yes, please advise in advance of the event and Chef will ensure all your guests are catered for.
Can I bring my own wine/drinks for my event?
We do allow you to supply your own wines/champagne with a corkage charge.
