Outdoor spaces and venues

With the end of lockdown nearly in sight, people are slowly looking to fill their event diaries in the coming months. This year you may be looking to host an outdoor event to celebrate the Great British summer (fingers crossed for the weather), or just looking for an opportunity to get friends, family and colleagues together and celebrate.

Outdoor venues offer an entirely different experience in terms of atmosphere, theming and arranging your space. They allow more scope for being imaginative and creative with your planning, not to mention providing attendees with the buzz of doing something a little out of the ordinary.

To help you plan your event safely and successfully, our team of events experts are here to help.

Love the idea of an outdoor event, but not sure where to start? We know all the common questions about outdoor events, so we hope the following will help guide you through and feel even more comfortable about planning your ideal event.

Why hold an outdoor event?

The benefits of holding an event outdoors

Opting for an outdoor venue may have only been something you've thought about in the warmer months, but this year outdoor events are topping the trend whatever the time of year or event.

So what are the benefits for you and your team when you take an event or celebration outside?

Our outdoor venues and Covid

Your safety is our top priority. All of our training venues are COVID-safe. For more information about what we're doing, look at our COVID Secure Standards and our COVID-19 FAQs.

Keeping your business moving and growing is as important to us as it is to you. We recognise that important decisions and deals still need to be made, working relationships need to be strengthened and new ways of working need to be found.

You can't guarantee the weather, but you can always guarantee high levels of safety. Our COVID-safe training venues provide a place for you to do all of this securely.

Our portfolio's very nature means that almost every venue we have has outdoor space capacity or the installation of marquees to create added space for the events they host. As we execute our health, hygiene and safety procedures, this additional space is becoming more important. Social distancing reduces room capacities, and we need to find space from somewhere.

Although our spaces will have different safety processes in place, your experience's quality won't be changed. You can rely on our venues for award-winning catering, cutting-edge AV and expert teams to ensure your training event goes smoothly.

What are we doing to make sure all our outdoor venues are COVID-secure?

More information is available on our COVID-secure FAQ page.

What sort of events can an outdoor venue cater to?

You might be asking, why we're recommending outdoor venues in the UK? But hear us out. The UK has some amazing outdoor spaces that are ideal not only in the very few warm months we have each year but throughout.

No two outdoor spaces are the same, and that's what makes them so special. Whether you're planning a street market, film screening or simply a celebration in the sun, embrace the great outdoors. At Lime, we've got you covered (literally) as we always have some back up indoor spaces available for your event, just in case.

Do we partner with any outdoor event specialists?

Yes, we do. We've partnered with Off Limits, an event company specialising in providing an extensive range of outdoor and indoor activities at our venues across the UK. Activities include teamwork challenges, including Crystal quest and Lock Box, but they will work with you to create the perfect activity to meet your event objectives.

And don't forget the importance of food at an outdoor event. We've partnered with KERB London’s leading street food organisation. Find out more about these street food aficionados in our article Right Time, Right Place.

What venues with outdoor space can I book?

Here at Lime Venue Portfolio, we offer a range of choices for your outdoor event, from the lush green lawns of a racecourse to castle rose gardens and even the deck of a World War II battleship. Our outdoor venues can help to make your wedding, party or celebration completely unique, and to give it a sense of character and personality that your guests will remember.

Many of our venues have outdoor space with adjoining accommodation, in-door meetings space, and various dining options and leisure activities. They are ideal for team building, family fun days, parties, product launches, exhibitions and corporate hospitality.

Take a look at our portfolio of venues and find the ideal backdrop for any outdoor event.
