Kerry Wright is our Head of Group Sales at Lime Venue Portfolio and her job has her travelling across the country visiting our clients and promoting the portfolio wherever she goes! She has been part of #TeamLVP since its inception in 2008 so has a lot of knowledge and experience when it comes to our venues and their events. Find out more in our Q&A session...

Tell us about your role?

As head of Group Sales for Lime Venue Portfolio my role is to ensure we are exploring every opportunity available to win or steal Market share of C&E business for our venues. Whether that be from our key Agency partners, corporate clients, smaller agents or charities and associations.  I don’t do this alone!  I have an amazing team who are just as passionate to do the same.  I also get the opportunity to contribute to the LVP strategy and be involved in our amazing marketing campaigns.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Diversity, and pride! Every day is different. I could be office based for a day with internal meetings planning our campaigns with our marketing department for the rest of the year, or updating spreadsheets followed by a day in a customer office showcasing our lunch offerings and educating on our portfolio. I work with an amazing team at LVP, all of us want to be there, we all have passion and drive for our business – we spend so much time at work the people you work with matter!  Working for the world’s largest caterer in amazing venues fills me with pride and confidence in our product and service.

What is your favourite film and why?
Gosh that is a hard question as there are so many – but my all-time favourite has to be a childhood film – Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland – can never tire from watching it.

Tell us something we don’t know about you?
I once appeared on Good Morning Britain and sat on the sofa with Suzanna Reid and Piers Morgan.

What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Never write in an email what you wouldn’t say face-to-face – emails are so misinterpreted, so pick up the phone – we don’t talk enough...

What’s your favourite lunch spot?
It really depends where in the UK I am – if I am out and about on the road then motorway services are convenient and now offer great healthy alternatives, but if I’m entertaining customers in London my go to is definitely Pennethornes at Somerset House – surroundings are informal and casual, food is not too heavy, yummy and service is very quick.

Best experience at one of LVP’s venues and why?
This is a tough one, we have so many amazing venues! However to attend the BRITS as a guest with our agent of the year winners, Calder, was an opportunity and experience I will never forget – amazing!

What motivates you?
Success and targets – I want us to be the best we can be at Lime Venue Portfolio, to be the voice for unusual and unique venues in the market place, to promote the number of venues we have and to be the thought leadership team for our venues.

What’s your best piece of advice for anyone looking to get into the events industry?
Get as much experience as you can from serving customers and food prep to organising events – work your way up to the top. Once you have done the job yourself you can understand how things come together and are achievable. Work hard, be honest and have fun.

Won’t leave home without?
LVP Brochure and of course lipstick! :)

Biggest challenge of working in the events industry?
Always being one step ahead and being different – standing out at agent appointments when they have many presentations each week – to keep it fresh and different after 10 years!!  Challenge accepted!!
