Lime Venue Portfolio are hosting their first LVP boot camp this week, with the event incorporating all aspects of health and wellbeing from exercise activities to educational sessions. Harry King is a former GB International Sprinter and British Record Holder, who has been coaching at Performance level for over 15 years; with experience gleaned from a period coaching in Professional Football. Having also competed for his native Antigua & Barbuda and held a Management and Advisor role within the National Athletics Association and the Olympic Committee, Harry is a more than suitable guest speaker for the LVP boot camp event.
UK Athletics Performance Coach and lead for the National Relay Programme from inception, both as Manager and as National Event Coach; Harry was instrumental in the Design/Project Management of the Medical and Support Services facilities at the Brunel University High Performance Centre. He has worked with over 85 athletes and produced over 70 medals.
He has had a long association with the Nike Group of Companies and set up Nike Design Interiors in Berkshire working on design and development of a diverse portfolio of leisure & hotel projects, so is no stranger to the world of events and hospitality. He also has a talent for nurturing and developing people with a strong focus on lifestyle awareness steering Elaine O'Neil, Marylyn Nwawulor and Ryan Raghoo to the World Championships; whilst at Brunel he was also Technical Coach to GB International Athletes, so the LVP team are excited to welcome him to Eastwood Hall on Saturday 19th January.
He has coached on numerous national teams for GB and England Athletics and has a fine record of success managing teams at the highest level. Harry was a National Coach Mentor for speed and is now the National Coach Lead for relays, having recently coached the gold medal winning relay teams at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Having graduated from the prestigious UK Sport Elite Coach Programme in 2009 Harry has a multi-faceted approach to human performance. Interestingly, he is also a professional Interior Designer and registered Hypnotherapist/Counsellor. His diverse background in design, project management, mentoring and coaching gives him a deep insight into emotional intelligence, motivation and human behaviour in a sporting and business context.
A competent speaker; Harry presented at the Disability Conference at the Olympic Park prior to the opening of the Para World Championships. Currently, he retains a Management & Coaching role within England Athletics and is a 'Motivational Maps' Practitioner and Stress Management Consultant.
