Lime Venue Portfolio’s 10th Birthday celebrations draw to a close this month following a year where the brand has launched a highly impactful market report, implemented a number of charity initiatives, and created a new conference brand for the event industry.
In the brand’s historic year, it has also won a prestigious C&IT Award for ‘Best Venue Team’, a further two accreditations at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA), and received multiple other nominations for the quality of work it produces both as a business, and for individuals within the Lime Venue Portfolio.
Following a number of early award wins, 2018 saw Lime Venue Portfolio launch the second edition of its award winning Unique & Unusual Venue Report, which included the latest market data on the unique and unusual venue sector, and confirmed the brand’s leadership with unusual venues. The report included insight from James Heappey MP, Chair of the UK government’s All Party Parliamentary Group for Events, Kerrin McPhee, Head of Business Events at VisitBritain and many more high profile leaders within the industry.
The brand also supported events industry charity, Meeting Needs, who raise funds for worthy causes in UK and overseas that are relevant to or have a connection with the events industry which may not have the resources to raise sufficient funds without additional contributions. Finally, Lime Venue Portfolio was in leadership mood again with the creation of the highly praised ‘Beyond’ conference, which saw Holly Tucker, founder of Notonthehighstreet.com, deliver a keynote address in front of over 120 events industry delegates.
On top of a year of initiatives, Lime Venue Portfolio also raised awareness of the progress the unique and unusual venue market has made in the 10 years since its inception. “It’s difficult to imagine now, but when we started 10 years ago no one could have predicted that an unusual venue group would have agreements in place with leading agencies from Capita to Calder, and corporate businesses from EY to HSBC,” commented Jo Austin, Sales Director, Lime Venue Portfolio earlier this year. “We have also developed strong sporting, heritage and leisure venues all able to meet and exceed more conventional venues for service, food and drink quality and excellence.”
On the end of a historic birthday year for the brand, Jo added, “it’s been another amazing year for the brand, we’ve won awards, we’ve smashed our growth targets, launched new venues, launched a market report and also delivered an amazing event for the industry.
