Our friends at Payne & Gunter
At Lime Venue Portfolio we’re privileged to work closely with the teams at our sister company, Payne & Gunter.
This is a business that understands ‘special’ as much as they understand events and food. They create the very best menus, produce food of the highest quality and deliver it with flair and surprise.
It means that through our venues we have a partner that can ignite the creation of experience through food. From delivering the best possible catering to the cream of the music industry at the Brits, to an elegant event to reward a board, a chairman, or event to place special emphasis on an individual for personal or business reasons.
We love working with Payne & Gunter because they make it their business to know our unusual and unique venues back to front. They know how menu’s can work in tandem with the themes and backdrops the venues provide, to add special details, moments of intrigue and interest, and elements of playfulness that underline the importance of the special occasion.
How to Make ‘Special’ Special
At Lime Venue Portfolio and Payne & Gunter we talk about the creation of experiences, and not just the organisation of events. Great events don’t just present content, feed people, or say thank you. They create memories, they make simple messages resonate, they reward through experience, they bring people together intimately or en mass.
When organising events remember the power that you have to create the truly exceptional, and the effect it will have on everyone who came along. Create an experience through every aspect of the organisation; from an invitation that creates anticipation, a venue that fulfils the anticipation with theatre and emotion, entertainment that surprises and delights, to food that creates a talking point and a visual fixture of the evening.
Think about the mind-set you want people to be in as they arrive, how you want them to feel at every stage of the evening. Think about the emotional journey you want them to go through; as a producer once said ‘Make them laugh, make them cry, make them think and send them home happy”!
The Meetings Show’s 2014 Hosted Buyer Welcome Reception was hosted at the Science Museum and the catering provided Payne and Gunter truly set the event apart. With a “steampunk” theme inspired by the amazing machinery on display at the museum, the theme was pulled through the bespoke menu which celebrated historic British flavours but went further to consider the display and food stations and the waiting staff uniforms as well. The result was quite simple a memorable special event and a stunning opening to The Meetings Show

So call us or call them; but firstly think about the power of what you’re doing and the memories you are looking to create, we’d love to be a part of it all.
