Hiring the right meeting room in the right venue is critical, as meetings are where business gets done. Think of every important business decision, the beginning of every project, activity or action; even how you started your own career; the chances are it was instigated through a meeting.
Whether internal or external, a private board meeting, a small group working on a project, or a large meeting with hundreds of delegates; meetings provide the valuable asset that is face to face communication. They allow time and thought, they instigate action, create momentum, they start things, keep them going, close and review them professionally.
Making the Most of your Meetings
Meetings are hard work; whether for an hour, a day or even longer, a meeting is a time where professionals need focus and attention; crucial decisions are made continually, and they need to be right. Strategy is challenged, brand is discussed, finances agreed. The business of the day is continually discussed, made better, everyone needs to input and be involved. At the end of the meeting delegates are exhausted, physically and intellectually.
Meeting planners understands this strain. Our customers have many areas to focus on; making sure the right people are in the room, making sure the content and objectives of the meeting are reached, combining the needs of speakers, Chairs and delegates, understanding cost implications and budget. They look to make the meeting productive and worthy at every opportunity.
This is where Lime Venue Portfolio help; our job is to work with event organisers and offer our facilities to help create inspiration and energy in a meeting; we do this through unique venues and outstanding food.
We believe that when a meeting planner chooses to hire an unusual venue for a meeting they are already on the way to a successful event. Its easy to have small meetings internally, ‘round the corner’, or in a dry meeting centre. Choosing an unusual venue shows more thought and consideration to both the meeting and its delegate. For larger meetings, it shows that the event isn’t just there to inform, but to inspire.
Think of the delegate mind-set as they enter settings such as Twickenham Stadium, Royal Berkshire or the Liberty Stadium. Already the creativity is flowing as they arrive at venues like the O2, NY-LON, Bristol Zoo or the Imperial War Museum.
If the planner cares that much about the hosting of the meeting than so will the delegates, meaning better return on objective, return on investment and a better experience for everyone.
Feeding Body and Mind
We understand the effect food can have on a delegation; give them the right start to the day and it’s like a ‘power up’ exercise for business people, the right boost at lunchtime means everyone is switched on for the afternoon, and a hearty dinner is both a reward and an incentive. We understand how nutrition and good menu selection can support delegates in getting the most out of their meeting. Sure, many need to hit a coffee to make it through the morning, but a fruit packed smoothie has longer lasting benefits.
We create menus in partnership with the event planners, using food in the right way and in sync with the objectives and message around the meeting. 42% of all event feedback is food related, done well the food can be a welcome distraction and a chance to switch off and talk about something else for a change. Equally it can underline the theme of a meeting or spur creative thought through its presentation and delivery.
Making Meetings Happen
The unusual venue market is a unique part of the meeting venue landscape because it adds incremental value to the industry. In short, people are now able to have the meetings that they want, because there exists the right space to have it.
This isn’t a new trend either and it continues to grow. The unusual venue market is now an established and trusted choice for thousands of event planners across the UK. Just like more traditional facilities, organisers can count on great Wi-Fi, advanced AV, great people that understand the demands of event organisers, and a choice of meeting rooms capable of multiple set ups. From opening agenda to closing comments, these are professional meeting places, with the added incentive of being set in amazing venues.
Meetings Mean Business
The meeting is often reviled and feared by professionals, and it’s true, bad meetings can be a waste of time and a strain on business. But good meetings are important, that is why campaigns exist to encourage better meetings and more of them.
Our own, Meetings Mean Business, is a chance for us to be the first cheerleaders behind event organisers who want a really great meeting. We’re here to encourage more of the best and less of the rest.
