Overview

The award-winning Castle Museum, located in the heart of York, houses one of the finest collections in the country and includes Kirkgate - an authentic recreation of a Victorian Street. This charming and unique evening venue is available for private dinners, banquets, cocktail receptions and Christmas parties.

Kirkgate is a famous attraction that never fails to delight, with its cobbled street and genuine shop windows packed with everyday goods from the past. The Victorian street is a delightfully novel venue for a banquet for up to 80 guests. They can savour the atmosphere while they dine, explore inside the period shops and then enjoy a tour of the museums unusual exhibits, including the cell where Dick Turpin was said to be held before his execution.

It is also possible to hire the whole museum for a buffet or drinks reception for up to 300 guests. If you wish, additional entertainment such as a DJ, band, or string quartet can be arranged to help your event go with a swing.

Catering
The finest, freshest ingredients are the starting point for Milburn’s outstanding food. Their chefs base their cooking on the best of traditional British dishes, combined with the contemporary flavours of Europe, to produce a range of tastes to stimulate any palate.

By car from the A1M take junction 45, off onto the A64, signposted York. Branch left onto the A1036. signposted York West. At traffic signals turn left onto the A1036, following signs to York / Inner Ring Road. Follow the road across the bridge and past the fire station on your right, The York Castle Museum is on your left.
