Every engaged couple dream of the perfect wedding or reception venue and while some might desire a place full of history, others might look for world-class architecture to offer a striking backdrop for photos.
The Imperial War Museum North, in Manchester offers all this and more and is now open to bookings. The Museum, recently named as one of the top visitor attractions in the country through the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010, is an iconic city landmark that offers the perfect setting for a special day. The award-winning architecture by Daniel Libeskind creates a unique and inspirational atmosphere.
Overlooking the Quays, Imperial War Museum North boasts an historic waterfront location, providing a tranquil and romantic backdrop, with a picturesque new promenade due to be completed this summer.
A wealth of experience
The Museum is offering a range of Special Occasions Packages, featuring a choice of reception drinks to start the celebrations and a range of food and wine options. To add to any package, the Museum can co-ordinate cake makers, toastmasters, florists for table decorations, entertainment and a calligrapher to script guests’ place cards.
Imperial War Museum North celebrated its first ever wedding reception in July last year. Mike Cryne and Kristina Holt were the first newlyweds to have the extraordinary reception experience. Kristina said: ‘The reception was fantastic it looked wonderful, the food was tasty and the atmosphere was really warm, friendly and fun. It was a great party! I can't thank all those involved enough. And with drinks under a harrier jump jet it's a wedding that the boys actually want to be at!’
As a registered charity any income assists in much of the work the Museum does, from putting on critically acclaimed exhibitions to providing learning programmes with the local community.
