EICC takes Centre Stage
Any stage anywhere at EICC with pictures in high-definition
Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), has completed a £150,000 investment in new modular aluminium staging and has introduced new HD cameras ahead of a packed programme at this year’s Edinburgh International Festival.
“Every investment in new kit is significant but unless you realise a return for your clients in terms of successful and sustainable events then you are missing the point."
Kenneth Boak, head of technical production
The high cost of one-time use stage carpentry has been eliminated with the introduction of modular aluminium staging that can create a performance or display space in a fraction of the conventional build-time. Additionally, with modules as compact as 1m sq and with circular staging options no design concept is off limits in any part of the building.
Complementing the new staging investment, EICC has upgraded its Encore Controller SC from Barco to High-Definition to deliver the highest specification in- house video projection capability of any UK congress venue.
Successful and Sustainable events
Commenting on the new staging capabilities at EICC, head of technical production, Kenneth Boak said:
“Every investment in new kit is significant but unless you realise a return for your clients in terms of successful and sustainable events then you are missing the point. Great staging and rich images in HD will pay back quickly for our clients”.
Staging surfaces can be fitted with branding panels featuring client corporate branding or coated with a printed film for a high gloss studio appearance.
EICC’s Edinburgh International Festival Programme this year includes the 35th Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival and on The Fringe, dance from New York, theatre from London’s West End and headline comedy including the Amnesty International, “Stand Up for Freedom” event.
