The meetings and event industry’s efforts in health and wellbeing present a great opportunity for growth in the incentive sector, according to Lime Venue Portfolio, Sales Director, Jo Austin. The venue portfolio hosts hundreds of incentive meetings and team- building events every year, and with the busy summer season upon us, Jo believes that health and wellbeing of staff can be linked to strong incentive programmes.

“There is a genuine effort from many to show a positive approach to their people, within and outside of the industry, and how we can benefit them through what we do,” continues Jo. “Within our own client base, we work with exceptional agencies that understand how incentive meetings and team-building events can make a positive impact on staff wellbeing and motivation. These agencies can be real ambassadors for what we are trying to do as an industry.” 

The industry is full of excellent initiatives right now that show that we understand and care about staff welfare, health, wellbeing and a better way to look after our people and at Lime Venue Portfolio, we’re seeing a rise in this kind of internal company event. Businesses see them as an opportunity for colleagues to build morale.

Team building and incentive events are a perfect way of taking on many of the factors that are linked to staff satisfaction and happiness, and we’ve a lot to offer our customers in this sector.

Over the last 18 months, the industry has launched a number of initiatives from Eventwell, to #eventtoo, and has focused on wellbeing through industry associations (HBAA, ILEA, mia, MPI & ABPCO) and events from Confex, IMEX and in forthcoming events, The Meetings Show, Square Meal and ibtm World, among others. This shows we’re moving in the right direction to help support our clients in organising events that take the health and wellbeing of staff seriously.”
